Updated for Winter ’26 – Agentforce & AI for All
Last Updated: November 2025 | Exam: Salesforce Certified Agentforce Specialist
This guide reflects the latest Agentforce Specialist exam outline: AI agents, Prompt Engineering, Data Cloud for Agentforce, deployment lifecycle, and multi-agent interoperability. It also includes the current AI for All free first attempt offer running through the end of 2025.
⚡ What’s Unique About the Agentforce Specialist Exam?
Compared to traditional Salesforce exams, this one is a deep dive into generative AI on the Salesforce Platform. You’re tested on configuring, grounding and deploying autonomous AI agents that run in real orgs.
The biggest chunk of the exam is AI Agents: how they reason, call actions, use topics, and how you test and deploy them with Agentforce Testing Center.
You’ll design prompt templates, pick grounding techniques, and manage Prompt Builder usage for different roles and use cases.
A full domain is dedicated to Agentforce & Data Cloud – libraries, retrievers and grounded responses that make agents accurate and personalized.

📝 Sample Agentforce Specialist Exam Questions
💡 Test Your Agentforce Knowledge
The real exam is very scenario-based. As you practice, always ask: “Which option is most aligned with Salesforce’s safe, grounded AI best practices?”
Question 1 – Choosing an Agent Use Case
A service leader wants an AI solution that can accept cases, look up knowledge, talk to customers, and hand off to agents in one continuous flow. They don’t just want canned replies; the AI should reason and take actions. Which recommendation aligns best with Agentforce?
A) Enable Einstein Article Recommendations for the service team.
B) Build a custom prompt template and ask agents to paste it into a chat tool.
C) Design an Agentforce agent with topics and actions to orchestrate the flow.
D) Build a set of email templates and quick text responses.
✅ Correct Answer: C) Agentforce agent with topics and actions
Explanation: The scenario requires reasoning plus actions (lookup, respond, handoff).
That’s exactly what Agentforce agents are designed for. Other options are useful but do not provide an end-to-end
autonomous workflow.
Question 2 – Prompt Builder & Grounding
You’re building a Prompt Builder template that generates personalized renewal emails. The legal team insists that responses are strictly based on the latest contract terms and discounts in Salesforce, not on the model’s general knowledge. What should you prioritize?
A) Use a very creative system prompt so the model “imagines” the best offer.
B) Configure grounding to pull contract and pricing data from trusted Salesforce records.
C) Ask sellers to paste the contract text into the prompt manually.
D) Rely on model training; it already knows how to negotiate renewals.
✅ Correct Answer: B) Grounding from Salesforce records
Explanation: The requirement screams grounded, compliant responses. You should configure
Prompt Builder with a grounding technique that reads contract and pricing data from Salesforce / Data Cloud,
instead of relying on generic model knowledge.
Question 3 – Data Cloud for Agentforce
You’ve connected Data Cloud and want your agent to reference a customer’s 360 profile (lifetime value, recent purchases, open cases) to personalize answers. Which configuration is most appropriate?
A) Ask the agent to “guess” based on the customer’s country.
B) Use an Agentforce retriever that queries Data Cloud segments and profiles.
C) Export Data Cloud data to CSV and paste it into the prompt template.
D) Tell agents to manually look up Data Cloud before using the agent.
✅ Correct Answer: B) Agentforce retriever into Data Cloud
Explanation: Data Cloud retrievers are the official way to ground agents in unified profiles.
This keeps data fresh, governed and query-driven instead of manual copy-paste.
Question 4 – Deployment Lifecycle
A sales operations team wants to roll out a new Agentforce agent to 1,000 sellers worldwide. What’s the best first step after building the agent in sandbox?
A) Deploy directly to production and send a company-wide announcement.
B) Run extensive tests in Agentforce Testing Center and pilot with a small user group.
C) Turn it on only for admins and hope they share feedback.
D) Skip testing; the model is already powerful.
✅ Correct Answer: B) Testing Center + pilot
Explanation: Salesforce emphasizes testing and phased rollout for AI features. Use
Agentforce Testing Center, then a controlled pilot, before enabling for thousands of sellers.
Question 5 – Multi-Agent Interoperability
Your org has one agent focused on case deflection and another focused on order changes. A new requirement appears: handle customer questions that start as general support issues but often turn into order change requests. What design aligns best with multi-agent thinking?
A) Delete both agents and create a single “mega agent” that does everything.
B) Allow the support agent to hand off to the order-change agent when it detects that intent.
C) Build a brand-new agent and leave the others unused.
D) Ask human agents to manually decide which AI agent to invoke each time.
✅ Correct Answer: B) Handoff between specialized agents
Explanation: A common pattern is multiple specialized agents that can collaborate or hand off
when intents change. This stays maintainable while enabling complex flows.

In a sandbox, create at least one end-to-end agent with topics, actions, Prompt Builder templates and Data Cloud grounding. Test it using Agentforce Testing Center.
Work through scenario-based questions from trusted providers (Focus on Force, blogs) and re-implement tricky cases in a playground until you’re comfortable.
💡 Exam-Day Tips for Agentforce Specialist
When in doubt, pick the option that grounds in Salesforce / Data Cloud, protects data, and uses least-privilege roles.
60 scored questions in 105 minutes ≈ ~1.7 minutes per question. Don’t get stuck; mark tough items and return later.
Avoid answers that depend on manual copy-paste, ungoverned prompts or ignoring testing. Salesforce wants repeatable, secure patterns, not shortcuts.
❓ Salesforce Agentforce Specialist – FAQ
1. Is Agentforce Specialist the same as the old AI Specialist cert?
No. Agentforce Specialist replaced the broader AI Specialist credential and is focused specifically on Agentforce, Prompt Builder and Data Cloud grounding, plus deployment lifecycle and multi-agent topics.
2. Do I need to be a developer or data scientist?
No coding background is required. The exam assumes you can configure Salesforce, understand data, and design prompts and agents – not build LLMs from scratch. Admins, consultants and solution owners are all good candidates.
3. How much hands-on Agentforce experience should I have?
Salesforce recommends at least 6 months of Agentforce work: building agents, configuring prompts, and deploying/testing them in sandbox or production. The questions are very scenario-driven.
4. Is the exam really free?
Through December 31, 2025, your first attempt is free as part of Salesforce’s AI for All initiative. Retakes currently cost $100 USD. Always verify the latest terms on the certification or FAQ page before you schedule.
5. How does this compare to the AI Associate exam?
AI Associate is broader and more conceptual, across Salesforce AI products. Agentforce Specialist is deeper and more hands-on for people who actually build and run agents on the platform.
6. How do I maintain the Agentforce Specialist certification?
Like other Salesforce certs, you’ll complete release maintenance modules on Trailhead periodically. If you miss the required maintenance by the deadline, the credential expires and you’ll need to re-earn it.
